The Garden with a View

This project was designed to create a generous outdoor living space that made better use of the garden’s changing levels while providing a seamless connection with the house.

We constructed new retaining walls to form the large raised terrace, finished with premium sandstone paving to create a warm, natural surface with plenty of space for outdoor dining, entertaining and relaxing. Wide feature steps lead down into the lower garden, creating a strong focal point while making the transition between the different levels feel open and inviting.

A bespoke timber pergola was built alongside the house to define a more intimate seating area, while new Venetian-style screening provides privacy and brings warmth and texture to the boundaries of the garden.

Decorative gravel detailing was added around the paving and borders, providing a crisp contrast against the sandstone and dark brickwork and tying the different elements together.

The result is a spacious, beautifully structured terrace that feels like a natural extension of the home - creating the perfect setting for outdoor living while still opening out onto the established garden beyond.
